Lets put the Social back into Social Media!

8th January 2019

Many businesses are still shouting at customers like they did in radio and print advertising days. Most of their business feed is filled with posts about their products, boring posts that just show their followers something to buy.

Your followers have liked your page for a reason. They have very busy days and only get chances here and there to check their social media. If they do not engage with your post, if they do not pause and read it, if they do not click Like, or comment, then you are toast. Facebook will not show your posts to them next time. Facebook wants to create a compelling platform people enjoy. Facebook will serve your posts to less and less of your followers if you continue to do boring posts.

How can you fix it?

Be Transparent

Provide some behind the scenes about your business. People have liked your business, they must have some interest in it. Show them how your business works, different aspects to what they have seen before. This gives you an opportunity to demonstrate what you do and your professionalism.

Share

Instead of just a photo of your product and a boring caption to say "buy this now please". How about demonstrate it? Explain why you have it in your product line, why at this time of year it would make your customer's lives easier. Maybe a video. Communicate with your customers.
