I thought I would start a section for cool tools I use in my Armidale Web Design business. This isn't a latest, trendy, promotion thing. These are tools I use everyday and have found valuable and indespensible.

Notepad++

This is where the magic happens, this is the plain text editor that I type in each day. Nice and simple, nothing fancy.

SmartFTP

File Transfer Client, an essential task for web designers and an easy to use interface. It costs, but I am more than willing to pay, as they started out free and have an excellent product.

Thunderbird

Email client.

SyncBack

Essential equipment for file destroying computers. Backup, Backup, Backup. SyncBack makes this easy.

GIMP

Photos manipulation. Icon and image work.

500+ Colours

This is where I start for the website palette, it is really just a beginning based on logo or photos, then I use Eric Meyer's blender below.

Colour Blender

I like this, because this is how a programmer thinks, brings artsy back to maths.

Copy Paste Character

A seemless way to deal with those annoying characters.

Favikon

Making those 16 * 16 pixel wonders that set your website apart.

Firebug

I use this to find out why the hell that pixel sliver is there.
